Kannawidan Festival!

             Ilocos Sur is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival”.      Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture that are to be preserved for the next generations because it is observed that many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano culture are not familiar to the younger generations already. Children of today are paying more attention to the modern and novelty dances they seen on the television than the traditional ones. Vigan City Fiesta Celebration amidst the COVID 19 Pandemic

       Vigan City fiesta is one of the biggest events in the Province of Ilocos Sur.   It is held every January 25 and it features different activities that nourished and promotes our diverse cultures as Bigueños.             The fiesta itself is a manifestation of the Bigueños' love for the history and tradition of Vigan City. The Vigan City fiesta have been a “balik-bayan” incentives, or come-ons for expatriates, to visit or come back for good to the town. Showcasing different cultures of Bigueños, the City Government of Vigan presents the Longganisa Street dancing Competition, Longganisa Cookfest, and more.
